Ok. So here is where the spiritual story of the start of this blog starts to get good. We’ve already established that I spent the better part of the past 2 years diving deep into spiritual growth. What we haven’t yet talked about is my constant searching for signs and guidance on my “next step”. I strongly felt like I was on the cusp of some big life change. I didn’t know what it was, but I knew it was going. I searched, and asked and waited for something big to manifest into reality. I was listening to a lot of podcasts at the time; Should I start a podcast? Get a new job? Start a business? Write a book? Get a new hobby? Become a life or health coach? Start a blog? … you get the idea.
At some point during this search it became clear to me that starting a blog was my next step, despite my hope that something more glamorous and lucrative would present itself (it didn’t). But what would I write about? While my blog idea started with spiritual learning and growing, I inevitably vetted every single other possibility – fashion, health and wellness, the petite girl’s guide to hiking mountains, starting a new hobby – to name a few.
Fast forward to late summer, and I’d been having some pain in my wrists and thumbs. My new spiritual self Googled “spiritual meaning of pain in thumbs”. True story, I actually searched that. Somehow that landed me on the idea that I needed to have Reiki. So again, I Googled “reiki near me” and stumbled upon Reiki Connection to Wellness. I made an appointment for that very day.
At the start of the session, my Reiki practitioner asked me to set an intention. I was there for my wrist/thumb pain, but instead the intention that came to me was to discover my next step. The session itself was incredibly relaxing. But what came after the actual Reiki changed my life. So my Reiki practitioner is also intuitive. She shared with me that during my session she saw me writing and told me that I needed to tell my stories. She also saw me reading – which, obviously I’d been doing a lot of. When asked what I was reading about, she said “crystals”. She also said that I was on the right path, to keep going and that it was the right decision for me. And in an instant, my original blog idea resurfaced, and I knew exactly what my blog was going to be about. My intention had been set and my next step was delivered. Just like that. Incredible.
Oh, and by the way, my wrist pain resolved after the Reiki. My thumbs still hurt, so maybe I’m due for more Reiki with a side of intuitive guidance. Stay tuned, because as good as this story was, my next one is even better. Thanks for reading!
